Ovo - Cirque Du Soleil Now On in Sydney

VO is a headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement. The insects' home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives.

It's love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye - and the feeling is mutual.

OVO is overflowing with contrasts. The hidden, secret world at our feet is revealed as tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, peaceful and chaotic. And as the sun rises on a bright new day the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.

What the media say about the show

"Overhead and on-the-ground, OVO is a whimsical infestation.
"It captivates as a vibrant, magical spectacle.

Wicked Stars Reunite For New Musical

FORMER Wicked co-stars Rob Mills and Lucy Durack are teaming up again in the upcoming new musical Legally Blonde.

The Australian production of the hit stage show, which won an Olivier Award last year, premieres at Sydney's Lyric Theatre on September 21.

After wearing pink as the good witch Glinda in Wicked, Durack once again dons the bright feminine colour to play Elle Woods, the role made famous in the 2001 film by Reese Witherspoon.
"I'm ready to get back into the pink," she said.

"What they (Glinda and Elle) have in common is that they're misunderstood, but in different ways.
"I think they do have a lot of differences but they both love pink and they're both blonde."
Mills, who recently hosted Channel 10's revival of Young Talent Time, plays heartbreaker Warner, although he originally auditioned for the role of Emmett.

"I was like yeah, he's a dorky guy, he's a smart guy, he ends up with girl. I'm thinking I like that role," he said of Emmett, played by fellow Wicked alumni David Harris.

"I learned all the material and then as soon as I walked in they said 'nah'. I said 'What? I haven't even sang for you or done the scene'. I sang, I did the scene and they said 'no, come back on Friday for Warner'.

"I was pretty shocked but at the same time pretty chuffed that they thought I was handsome enough to play the role of Warner.

"I was really rapped to throw myself into something different.

"I didn't think I was right for that role at all, but maybe a bit of acting courses have paid off."
Jerry Mitchell, who directed and choreographed the Broadway production of Legally Blonde, helms the Australian version, which is a co-production of John Frost and The Ambassador Theatre Group.

Legally Blonde The Musical plays Sydney's Lyric Theatre from September 21 through November 25.
Tickets available through Ticketek.

Slash "Apocalyptic Love" - Sydney Entertainment Centre

Recent Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductee and one of the greatest exponents of the electric guitar, SLASH, returns this August for an unmissable tour in support of his new album ‘Apocalyptic Love’.   On his last visit SLASH sold out all of his Australian shows in under 10 minutes. Those shows were moved up to much larger venues and promptly sold out again.

So this time around, he will come not only armed with the most gifted rock vocalist of this generation, Mr. Myles Kennedy and the band of Conspirators, but with an arena production to deliver his fabled show; just as the rock gods intended.

SLASH & Co are set to perform an all killer career spanning set from early Guns to Velvet Revolver and 2 amazing solo albums, the latest of which, Apocalyptic Love, has garnered praise from fan forums to broadsheet newspapers and all points in between.

“Like some kind of rock 'n' roll kaleidoscope, the album evinces the legendary guitarist at his best from all angles. There are soft and subdued moments. There's danger. There's mayhem. There's blues. There's shred.” – Artistdirect

"Like the new album, and the debut before it, the perfect rock marriage of Gibson and Marshall comes to life in SLASH’s live show.  “In front of a wall of Marshall amps Slash in top hat, leather pants and sleeveless shirt played his guitar like a man possessed racing from one side of the stage to the other” Triple M

Jeff Dunham's Controlled Chaos (From Comedy Central)

Hailed as one of the most influential comedians and ventriloquists in the world today, Jeff Dunham is returning to Australia to bring alive his hilarious & world famous characters.

His television specials and series have been the highest rated programming in Comedy Central history, his DVD sales have reached seven million units, his videos have received a half a billion views on You Tube, and his live concerts have become mega-events played in front of sold-out arenas worldwide.

No wonder Time Magazine wrote that he is “the most popular comedian in the United States” and Forbes named him to its Celebrity 100 list of most powerful entertainers three years running.

Achmed has a son! An extended clip of Jeff Dunham, Achmed, and Achmed Junior from Jeff's latest stand-up special Controlled Chaos. Silence...…wait for it...…I Keel You!

Dunham will be bringing his entourage of signature characters who are there to challenge and chastise his every sentence. There’s Walter, the grumpy retiree; the beer-swilling, NASCAR-loving and resolutely red neck Bubba J; the furry and manic Peanut; José Jalapeño, the spicy pepper from South of the border; the bumbling skeletal Achmed the Dead Terrorist; the almost as dead long-lost son of Achmed, AJ; and Peanut’s own ventriloquist dummy: Little Jeff.

They may have all been conceived and hand crafted by Dunham, but his characters, who are anything but dummies, have now taken on a life of their own, each with their own legion of fans.

Don’t miss your chance to see Jeff Dunham LIVE!
