30 Seconds To Mars Sydney Concert Tour 2013

Warriors of progressive metal Thirty Seconds To Mars will be unleashing a blockbuster performance in Sydney this August! UPDATE: August tour POSTPONED to Sat 29 Mar 2014 @ The Sydney Entertainment Centre. All tickets purchased to the August show dates will be valid for the new March shows. Patrons do not need to purchase or exchange their tickets to gain entry to the rescheduled dates.

Lead singer Jared Leto revealed the bands intention to return to Australian shores whilst here earlier this month to promote hugely anticipated fourth album, Love Lust Faith + Dreams, out 17 May. Which Leto told BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe that it’s a “complete transformation for us... stronger, better and more evolved”. 

No strangers to innovation, in partnership with NASA the band literally launched first single ‘Up In The Air’ into space for an ‘out of this world’ premiere 230 miles above the Earth. The track was carried aboard the SpaceX rocket and received its first ever play on the International Space Station.

Having already blown Australian audiences away with sold out theatre tours in 2007 and again wowing audiences across the country in 2010, the guys are primed to conquer our arenas for the very first time this August. 

On stage the band is a force of nature, Leto’s captivating showmanship and the band’s skillful execution leaving little doubt why their fans - named ‘The Echelon’ after one of their songs - are so devout. On their last tour, the band even broke a Guinness World Record for longest ever concert tour after performing an astonishing 311 shows over two years in almost 60 countries in 6 continents.

Jesus Christ Superstar at Sydney Entertainment Centre

Hosanna!  Jesus Christ Superstar fans in Sydney can rejoice the fact that an evening and matinee show has just been added.  The new shows will take place on Sunday 9 June and will take the total to five arena shows in Sydney.

The new shows will go on general public sale at 9am Monday 15 April. 

The show stars Australia’s own Tim Minchin as ‘Judas Iscariot’, former Spice Girl Melanie C as ‘Mary Magdalene’ and the critically acclaimed new-comer Ben Forster in the role of ‘Jesus’.  Also starring in the Australian production will be Jon Stevens returning to Jesus Christ Superstar in the role of ‘Pontius Pilate’ (Stevens played Judas in the 1992 Australian arena tour and the 1994 theatre production) and Andrew O’Keefe in the role of ‘King Herod’.

Andrew Lloyd Webber says: "I'm thrilled that Australia is to be the first leg for our international tour of the new Jesus Christ Superstar.  We had an overwhelming reception when the show toured the country for an astounding 84 dates in 1992. I hope this new production, which has been totally re-conceived for the 21st century, will entertain a new generation of Australians as well as those who already love the show."

The new production’s run in the UK in late 2012 broke previous audience records with 74,000 fans seeing the show in its opening weekend.  The arena production received wide acclaim, with critics praising the show as:

The all-new Disney-Pixar Fun Zone includes four new worlds of entertainment from Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters University and an expanded Cars Zone.
